Chelsea Flower Show is the highlight of the UK horticultural calendar, and takes place in May each year. Run by the Royal Horticultural Society, it attracts over 700,000 international visitors to London to see cutting edge developments in garden design from leading experts and companies.
Rare plants and avant-garde pavilions sit alongside artisan, urban and other themed gardens, and expert gardeners compete for prestigious titles of Florist of the Year and Young Chelsea Florist of the Year competitions. The whole experience is a feast for the senses and imagination.
Creative lighting design agency Michael Grubb Studio took part in the 2013 show, working in partnership with renowned landscape architects Wilson McWilliam Studio. UFO were delighted to be commissioned to manufacture fiber optic lighting for the Cloudy Bay Discovery Garden.
The garden design concept was 'always precious, sometimes scarce', reflecting the enjoyment of wines from the Cloudy Bay vineyards, and a vision of quality, simplicity and closeness to nature.
