Illuminator Accessories
Weather Resistant Enclosures
The UFO range of IP55 rated weatherproof enclosures are designed to house a range of UFO manufactured, low wattage RGBW LED illuminators.
The enclosures support illuminators with either local and remote controlled functionality.
The units are fitted with vents to allow air circulation and with glands for connecting the fiber optic harness, any required DMX cables and the power input.
These units are all IP55 rated when installed as specified by UFO.
The enclosures are available as either a DC powered unit* (with an externally mounted PSU) or alternatively they can be powered straight from a 240V AC socket with the PSU mounted inside the enclosure.
Where the enclosures are sited in proximity to a swimming pool or other body of water, the DC powered option should always be specified for electrical safety reasons.
*Note that the enclosure with the Sirius S illuminator is only available as an AC powered version.

This includes near the sea, on ships or in any other areas where the illuminator would be in an unprotected area. Damage caused by salt water due to improper, unprotected siting of the illuminator will void any and all UFO warranties on the product. UFO strongly recommend that the illuminator is not installed in any location where such damage may occur.

The IP55 certification of these weatherproof enclosures is only valid if the enclosure is wall mounted in the orientation detailed opposite. It is important that there is a minimum of 300mm (12") of space around all sides of the enclosure to allow for air circulation and to prevent overheating.
Mounting the enclosure in any other way will invalidate the IP rating and the product warranty.
UFO will accept no responsibility for any loss or damage that occurs due to incorrect mounting.

DC powered variants of the enclosure are supplied with a 10 metre (32ft) long cable for use between the PSU and the enclosure entry.
This is the maximum recommended cable size and is provided so that the PSU can be located a good distance from the enclosure when it is sited near a pool or other large body of water.

AC powered variants of the enclosure require an AC electrical outlet to be within 2 metres of the enclosure. The PSU is located within the enclosure body.
These variants are suitable for use where dust ingress is a potential issue or where the enclosure may be subject to rainfall or spray from above.
